MY NAME IS CORIE WILLIAMS AND I AM THE PHOTOGRAPHER BEHIND THE LENS OF OLIVE TREE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Well... I guess you could say my journey with photography began with my mom. She always had her camera within an arm's reach growing up. She photographed everything from awards ceremonies to little league games to birthday parties. My mom took a great number of photos over the years, and she always printed them out and shared them with her subjects. There is nothing extraordinary about her style or skill set. She just simply treasures the memory that a photograph captures.
My mom's passion was the inspiration behind my desire to become a photographer.
The summer after my senior year in high school, I saved up and purchased my first DSLR camera. It was a big purchase, but I knew that it was the best investment I had ever made in my life up until that point. I attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and majored in Visual Communications. During college, I learned the technical skills of my trade and learned one incredibly important lesson:
The story behind the image is so much more powerful than simply a good photo.
My business has changed so much since starting in 2010. When I first began, I only offered senior sessions, but as I became more comfortable with my craft, I expanded my offerings. I now shoot seniors, families, newborns, weddings, and bridals just to name a few. I currently live in Lubbock, Texas, but travel all over Texas for sessions and work as an Executive Director of Marketing & Communications for Chick-fil-A in Lubbock.
I hope after reading this you feel as though you know me a little better. I would love the opportunity to tell your story through the captured image.
